Jungle Boogie

Alaina's dance recital was this past Saturday.

Her class performed an adorable tumbling routine to "Jungle Boogie" by Kool & The Gang- great song, but now I can't get it out of my head.

Anyway, I was chosen to double french braid her curly locks for the occasion. Which, as you can see, didn't hold as well as I'd hoped...

But I'm pretty sure all of those awesome cartwheels, somersaults, and backwards somersaults are to blame.

This was Alaina's third year in dance, and it's really amazing to see how her skills develop more and more each year. Unfortunately, her Uncle Chris was unable to witness this progress first hand, so I recorded the performance for him, and thought it would be fun to share it with you, too!

Did you spot her? Isn't she a phenomenal little tumbler?!

We're all so proud...

P.S. To our surprise, little Julia enjoyed e.v.e.r.y s.i.n.g.l.e act of the entire four-hour show.

So I think it's safe to say that we have a future dancer on our hands... : ) YAY!
