Listings letter

Dear 'Keri me home' reader,

Hi! How are you? I thought I'd have some bloggy fun today by sharing a list with you. Lists are just the best. Don't you think? I'm not sure how I'd get anything accomplished without them. They focus my mind in such a wonderfully manageable way, and it seems like I've been making a lot of them lately: to-do; brainstorming; laundry; honey-do; grocery; wish...

Anyway, here's one of those recent lists that I thought might interest you.

"My New Favorite Things" List

1. Gummy vitamins
Have you tried these things yet? You should if you haven't. I have been taking vitamins regularly thanks to these little chewy delights, and so has Chris! Where were these things 20 years ago when I was secretly flushing my Flintstones vitamins down the toilet? They taste so good!

2. My dutch oven
Soups and roasts and stews, oh my! I'm pretty sure that you need one of these lovlies in your kitchen if you don't already have one, preferably in a fun, loud color. I've seriously been crushing on this thing since Christmas. In fact, it's found a permanent home on the stove top- because I can't bring myself to store something so beautiful in the gloomy darkness of a cupboard.
It's orange. It's shiny. It's awesome.
3. "Leadership Thoughts" emails
I think he's on to my adoration/appreciation of his helpful advice and encouragement, as my Gmail inbox has become a frequent destination for these 'thoughts'.
{Keep 'em coming, Steve. Thanks!}

*Here's an awesome link (it's a list, too) he sent not long ago that you should read: How To Be More Interesting (In 10 Simple Steps)

*And here's the latest one, which I find particularly inspiring since the start of a special project with one of my favorite people:

“So what do we do? Anything. Something. So long as we don’t just sit there. If we screw it up, start over. Try something else. If we wait until we’ve satisfied all the uncertainties, it may be too late.”
– Lee Iacocca

Don’t wait to take action in pursuing your goals of growth and positive change. Uncertainty is part of stepping out there. Trust yourself. Take the risk. To do nothing is to accept that this is as good as it gets, when the fact is most of us are not near what we can be.

Trust yourself. Don’t wait.

Take care,
Steve

4. Rain boots
Yes. These cuties are a country gal's dream kicks, holding up to snow, water, mud... and cow pies. Do you have rain boots? What do they look like?
Mine are tweed.
5. Calving checks
OK, I know this sounds strange, and it's not even really a 'thing' I guess, but I think I'll call my recent obsession 'calf fever'. My symptoms include (but are not limited to) the constant checking on the arrival status of new calves. I feel like I'm always texting, calling and bothering Chris- but the answer is always, "nope" or, "not yet". Ugh. We've had a couple 'teasers' the past few days, and the anticipation is seriously testing my sanity. I just really don't want to miss the first of those fresh, tiny, furry baby cow faces. Because you know me, and you know that I love all babies, even ones with hooves. : )

That's all I have for today. What's on your list of new faves? I'd love to hear from you!

Love always,
Keri

P.s. In the spirit of list making, I hope you'll put "enjoy the day" on one of yours! After all, it is the first day of February, and we are that much closer to spring- which is just one reason to smile big.

  3. A country girl myself, my "rainboot" of choice is the MuckBoot!

Seriously, warm, dry, and long lasting. They may not be fashionable or trendy, but they sure do the job when stomping through muddy fields to get your horse. AND they have good tred on the bottom. Check them out.
Also, I own a super cute pair of Dav Rain Boots. Super cute, trendy and they lace up the back - what could be any better??
